Notes
This project was the first phase of the City Hall project, with a diverse program including a mayor's office, municipal council chambers, meeting rooms, senior staff offices, public exhibition areas, a cafeteria, a restaurant, an auditorium and a reception hall. The square building has an entrance on each of its four facades, yet the main entrance is located on the east, facing a plaza meant to connect the building to the second construction phase. An open circular courtyard, hidden from the exterior, runs through the center of the building and is surrounded by four 'segments'. At the ground floor, the spaces between these segments become internal streets. One of the segments houses the main City Hall, while the other three house a permanent public exhibition areas.
The main material used is local light-colored limestone, found internally and externally, which has been adorned with traditional decorative patterns.
