Notes
One the most influential Danish architects of the 20th century. In 1957 he won the international competition to build the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. This building contributed greatly to his international breakthrough, and it was declared a World Heritage Site in 2007. He is also recognized for the Melli Bank in Tehran (1963) and the Kuwait National Assembly Building (1975-83). In 2003 he won the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
