Notes
The building’s location, positioning in the plot, volumetric proportions, design quality, musharrabiyya details, and turquoise color make the building stand out as a remarkable landmark. The architect’s play between protrusions, voids, and patterned screens on the façade animates the interior with a unique interaction of lights and shadows.
This office building is four stories high with the ground floor housing the public and semi-public spaces. The semi-public spaces are recessed inwards allowing a gallery to contour the built area. The upper two floors include the offices and benefit from a unique plan layout on each level. The façade is constituted of a repetitive ensemble of elements displayed on along the first and second floors. The ensemble includes a window featuring a sun-breaker and musharrabiyyas on either side. Two vertical elements with a structural beam project outwards between the repeated ensembles.
