Notes
El Turabi Primary School was designed by Abdel Moneim Mustafa in conjunction with Professor Turabi. The design opted for Vierendeel beams to overcome unstable soils. The school is notable for the shading techniques used in the main circulation routes, as well as the use of bricks.
"The rural primary school [...] is unique as both the plans and the superstructure of the school are striking in their simplicity and functionalism, yet still manage to achieve a strong and memorable visual language and presence through shading strategies and strong emphasis on circulation routes."
