Notes
The building is a residential complex prototype inspired from Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation de Marseille. It consists of two parallel 14-storey rectangular wings, elevated on pilotis, linked with a vertical circulation tower. An elongated block, round at its extremities, is perpendicular to these blocks and hosts public activities.
Just like Le Corbusier’s building, a central corridor on each floor gives access to split-level apartments of various sizes.
Sayed Karim carefully devised a ground floor in connection with the neighbourhood with activities alongside the green landscape. A casino, restaurant, swimming pool, sports area, multipurpose hall, a grocery shop, and an underground parking allow the building to connect with the urban context.
