Notes
Hotel Régent was built between 1936 and 1940 for Youssef Medawar. The hotel, one of the largest in the city center at the time, was distinguished with its very functional plan distributing 63 rooms, all with a private bathroom. It was decorated by architect Nadim Majdalani (1914-1978) and had frescoes by renowned artist Georges Paul Coury, representing "naiades" and "centaures".
The building was demolished by SOLIDERE during the reconstruction of the Beirut city center.
