Notes
The school is made up of three floors of classes overlooking an internal courtyard. The internal façade is separated from the courtyard by an outdoor passage on each floor. The horizontal language of the passages is interrupted by continuous columns along the entire façade; they were painted white to contrast the pastel yellow color of the internal brick walls. Those passages had a dual function; they protected the classrooms from direct sunlight, and were used programmatically as a gathering space for students during recess and between classes.
The external façade of the school was lined with horizontal bands of windows—along the three floors, ending the top window band with another apparent concrete band. These windows gave an equal and adequate amount of light to the internal classrooms.
