Notes
This project was inspired by a previous Chadirji design of a shrine for the poet Umru’ al Qais. The idea was to transform Taq Kasra (Arch of Cteiphon,) which was built in brick, into a structure built in reinforced concrete.
The site was al-Firdaws Square. Due to the proximity of the King’s Mosque and its overshadowing grandeur, Chadirji made use of the perspective technique to present the monument as much bigger and higher than it actually was.
