Notes
This project was an experimental exercise by the architect and was later annexed into a study for modern residential buildings in Egypt.
The complex was constituted of two parallel blocks and a shorter middle one.
The complex housed a total of sixty duplexes, mostly along the seventeen floors of the two parallel blocks. Each duplex included spaces for day activities on its ground floor—such as a reception, kitchen, dining room, and living room—and spaces for night activities on its upper floor such as the bedrooms.
The middle block of the complex housed the lobby on the ground floor, offices on the first few floors, and duplexes on its top floors. The ground floor functioned like a miniature mall reserved for the residents. It included a grocery shop, galleries, a basement, restaurants, residents’ club, a casino, a pool…
The basement accommodated seventy vehicles and storage spaces for the restaurant and grocery shops. On the roof levels, spaces for children’s activities were set to include a kindergarten, playing rooms, study rooms…
