Notes
The names of the architects of this building have been lost. It was built in two stages. The first one started in 1932. In 1945, armed conflicts partially destroyed the building that was renovated and enlarged later the same year. The interiors, designed by the master-craftsman Abou Suleyman Al-Khayat, are a mix of Fatimid, Andalucian, Omayad and Abbasid arts and architecture. The elaborately detailed interiors of the assembly chamber are the most important features of the building.
