In this church that was never built, the architect was able to illustrate the modern use of reinforced concrete and break free from its traditional ways. He gave the church all its necessary constituents while at the same time using a modern material and way of construction.
Mohamed Elshahed (Cairo Since 1900), sees in it the influence of Oscar Niemeyer's Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Pampulha, Brasil.
