Notes
The project won in a competition between a selected group of Jordanian architects in 1987. The architect used the Ammani stone for the façades of the building and blended it carefully into the residential area where it is located. The form of the building follows the configuration of the plot; the exterior was designed like a closed off space. The plan of the building however, is oriented according to the light and is directed towards an internal courtyard with a metal-frame roof.
The building is made up of two sections: the first—located at the North and East— includes the administration and cafeteria, receives an adequate amount of light and faces the quieter street; while the second includes the technical areas and do not need openings to protect from the South and West sun nor from the noise of the busy main street they are facing.
