Barghouthy won the first prize of the competition that was held for this project. He worked on modern façades on the outside but a traditional treatment of the inside, using the arcades, ornaments, moucharabiyah elements, polychromatic stone cladding (ablaq), etc. The different functions of the building are grouped around interior courtyards.
