Notes
Villa Hitti was demolished in April 2001. The lowest level, to the left, accomodated the clinic of Dr. Hitti with a private entrance from the street. The house had the main reception areas slightly elevated from the street level, while the bedrooms where on a split level, above the clinic. The various preliminary designs for the elevations testify of an evolution from the vertical dominance to the horizontal bands that were finally implemented. Along with the canopy that extended far from the walls, this gave the house a Wrightian look. The reception areas recalled the classical distribution of the traditional central hall plan, but this similarity does not extend to the rest of the house. It is quite representative of the transitional hybrid model that kept some ties with the former one.
