Notes
This villa was conceived for the general secretary of Kom Ombo, an agricultural company in the valley of Kom Ombo in Aswan. This villa was part of a complex that includes other employees’ houses and residential facilities. The villa is designed with aspects of the rural villa typology and is well adapted with the hot arid climate.
The villa consists of two floors with a room on the roof top. On the ground level, elevated almost half a meter from the street level, verandas are separated from the interior spaces with large doors, which, upon opening, merges the exterior and interior into a singular space opening onto the garden.
A large veranda ends with an elegant spiral stair leading to the upper floor. On the upper floor, the children’s bedrooms and parents’ bedroom are separated with the family lounge. The latter benefits from views towards both the garden and the sea. A balcony overlooking the garden connects all the room of the upper floor rooms giving on the villa’s garden.
In terms of materiality, red brick is featured, and local colored rubble is used for tiling.
