Fernando de Aranda was born in Madrid. He studied in Istanbul and lived most of his life in Syria where he was a main contributor to the architecture and urban planning of Damascus during the first half of the twentieth century.
He built some of the most iconic buildings of the Syrian capital, the most famous one being the Hijaz Railway Station.
