Notes
Neema's design for the department store was altered in 2012. The western façade facing the sea—and the highway—was made up of yellow aluminum panels which constitute a stair-like deviation from the center while the rest of the façade is made up of blue glass. On the opposite eastern façade, two skylights, positioned at different levels introduced light into the interior. In the fall of 2012, New York based architecture firm nArchitects completed the new façade of ABC along with an addition of around 28,000m² to the existing mall (four volumes over the descending site). The west façade is now covered with an aluminum screen with a pattern of ABC logos. The screen—which has a big rectangular window over the café area located slightly where the old ABC logo used to be—reduces heat gain caused by the exposure to the sun in the afternoon.
