Notes
The project was a competition won by TAC in 1973. The site is adjacent to the old historic palace and the Grande  mosque. To the southeast of the cultural center the land was transformed into several landscaped courtyards bounded by arcades each with a different function.
The building comprises a library, conference halls, an exhibition hall and an auditorium.
It responds to the harsh environment by employing small openings on the facade and deep arcades to provide shelter were large glass areas are used.
